Oil is used to hydrate the wood and wax is used to make it water repellant.
Cutting boards take more abuse, so they need a bit more love. After each use, wash by hand with warm soapy water — never soak. Let it dry upright. Every 2–4 weeks, condition it with a food-safe wax to keep it smooth, sealed, and crack-free.
